What is this?

Type something. Every letter becomes a number, every number becomes a place, and the shape that comes out is your text seen from the outside.

A computer stores text as numbers — one per letter, space and line break. Chillbert never sees your words. It sees that run of numbers and gives each one a spot in the cube.

The cube is the colour space

Three numbers make a colour — so much red, so much green, so much blue. Three numbers also make a place. So a colour can simply be put where it belongs: the cube is every colour there is, and each point sits at its own. Nothing is dressed up; a dot's colour is the value it stands for.

Drop a picture in and you are looking at the colours it is made of, in space. A gradient comes out as a ribbon, a photograph as a lobe. Text lands in a small slab, because writing only ever uses a narrow band of the numbers available to it.

Or place a byte by where it stands

Switch the mapping to Character and one letter becomes one point. Then there is a choice to make, and the slider is it: left, and a letter’s own value picks the spot, so every “A” lands on the same star forever. Right, and its position in the text picks it instead — the 500th letter always sits in the same place, whatever it happens to be, and similar passages clump together.

Then push it further

The vault encrypts your text before drawing it, and scrambled data has no pattern left at all, so the tidy slab becomes an evenly filled cube. The picture is the proof.

Every point is drawn in its own value — there is no palette on the data. And every label on screen explains itself: point at one and it tells you what it means.

Two things this is not

The vault hides nothing — its export is an obvious square of noise, and concealing that a message exists is a different craft entirely. And it is a demonstration rather than a security product: the encryption is real and standard, but a web page is not a vetted secure channel, and the whole thing is only as strong as the password you chose.

Nothing here is advice about playing the lottery. Every combination is exactly as likely as every other, and no arrangement of dots changes that.
